This blog first came into existence as an illustrated handmade 'I Hate' book that I created a few years ago. Within it's pages I listed, day by day, all the little annoyances that made me grumble and mutter under my breath like an old bag lady. I kept it up for a year and I loved doing it. Some of it still needs illustrating and colouring in, but it's mostly all there and I still pick it up now and again and have a good old chuckle at my long lost grumbles.
Here are some of the pages:
Late last year [2008] I was re-designing Rachel Hazell's website and I was inspired by the title of one of her works - 'Island Journal' - and decided to make another book very much like my first, but this time to simply document our summer trip around the Outer Hebrides - my own little island journal and much like my fist book I noted down thoughts, words and experiences, but this time they were both negative and popsitive. Here are some examples:
I was originally going make this blog an I Hate, but thought, if I'm going to keep this up for longer than a year [which I intend to do] it's going to go into negative overdrive and I'd be worried that I would come across as a right miserable old git.
And so it became the love/hate blog and it now lists lots of things - things I love and things I hate.
I hope you enjoy reading and please feel free to leave comments and start discussions.
