Starving Starlings

I Hate

I’ve put this down as a hate as over the past few weeks our garden has become a battleground.

Every week I put food out on the bird table and fill up the four bird feeders we have hanging from the tree in the back garden. But lately, I’ve been having to fill everything up almost daily as swarms of starlings invade and eat everything up like a pague of locusts and they don’t do it quietly either. If we’ve got the back door opwn during the day, all I can hear from my office at the front of the house is their constant bickering and squawking as they fight over the food on the bird table.

They’ve brought with them hundreds of sparrows too - so our garden is just mad at the moment. I love having birds in the garden and so I don’t mind that they’re eating everything so quickly - I just wish they didn’t make so much bloody noise whilst they are doing it!
