Anne Bevan - Particle

I Love
Saw this exhibition of Anne Bevan’s latest work at the Taigh Chearsabhagh Museum & Arts Centre this morning.
“Inspired by a geological survey from the beaches of Uist, this new body of work looks in microscopic detail at the particles that make up our beaches. After collecting samples from the low tide line on the Atlantic beaches, individual particles have been explored and imaged, with the specialist help of scientists at the University of Edinburgh and the Natural History Museum in London. The exhibition is an installation of sculpture, video and photography, and viewers to the exhibition will be invited to actively engage with the work and specimens. While exploring the beauty of these individual particle forms, the project also looks at the wider context and relevance of these particles, in relation to time, environment and climate change.”
Through this exhibition I’ve added another words to my list of top favourites - Foraminifera.
