Gooseberries

I’ve never eaten gooseberries before until now.
We’ve got a gooseberry bush gorwing on the edge of the cliff at the bottom of our garden and last year we watched as the fruit grew and ripened and then withered and dropped off. But this year we decided to try them for the first time and have made loads of things. I never thought you could eat them raw as I thought they’d be really sour, but they’re lovely. I’ve made cordial, ice lollies and also fruit crumble and we’ve got the last of the crop to pick this weekend and have found some more recipes to try.
