I Hate

I’ve had this client for over a year and and have I actually produced any work for her yet…nope…done diddly squat!

She wanted me to build her website, but thought getting a holding page up and running first would be a good idea. I agreed. I suggested something simple with an animated flash slideshow that showcased some of her best work. She stated she wanted to get this up asap and then replace it quite quickly with the actual website.

A whole year has gone past and all I’ve had is irritation.

She’s wasted a load of my time, doesn’t seem to understand what a pixel is, how to change an image from CMYK to RGB or how to make a file in photoshop with specific dimensions. Granted, a lot of my client wouldn’t understand all that either, but this woman is a graphic designer and she uses Photoshop, so how she doesn’t know simple tasks let setting the file size/dimensions or change the colour mode of an image is beyond me.

I’ve had so many iterations of her holding page layout and there’s no consistency between them. They are all different dimensions, the logo changes it’s position within each - it’s a web designer’s nightmare. I gave up and just told her I could no longer work with her.

I saw these earrings on Etsy and it made me think of her.
