I Love

I keep hearing this song by The Free Design because of the new advert for some car made by Toyota.

It’s a lovely, beautifully harmonised track that makes you think of fluffy bunnies, sunny meadows, skipping and other happy thoughts.

I tracked the band down on last.fm and found out a little more about them. They were a Delevan, New York-based vocal group , all siblings of the Dedrick family. They released 6 albums in total between 1967 and 1972 and this song featured on the ‘Sing For Very Important People…’ album which, according to Wikipedia, was released in 1970 - a year before I was born. Wow! Funny how it’s being used for a car advert today, but then advertising is all about selling dreams and I guess the lyrics of the song fit the concept of the advert.
