I Hate

Why do so many women nowadays choose to wear trousers far too small for them, with a low waistline, teamed with a top that displays the midrif? This look has been nicknamed the ‘Muffin Top’ as that is exactly what their rolls of flesh resemble.

As perfectly defined by Wikipedia:

“Muffin-top is a generally pejorative slang term used to describe the phenomenon of overhanging flesh when it spills over the waistline of pants or skirt in a manner that resembles the top of a muffin spilling over its paper casing. This generally occurs when an individual wears low-rise, hip-hugger pants, or midriff-baring tops that are too small.”

It’s not a good look and I can only guess that these women see celebrities like Britney Spears wearing low waisted jeans and think they can do the same regardless of their body shape. I hate this look and don’t think it’s very flattering. It was bad enough when we saw thongs everywhere, but now we have the muffin top too. If you combine the thong and muffin top you get a look that’s loveingly termed the ‘Whale Tale’ - hilarious! Also perfectly defined on Wikipedia:

“Whale tail is the Y-shaped waistband of a thong or g-string when visible above the waistline of low-rise jeans, shorts, or a skirt that resembles a whale’s tail. Intentionally or unintentionally, a whale tail is exposed above the trousers mostly when sitting or bending, or even while standing.”
