I Hate
I passed my driving test last year, so I guess I’m still a newbie on the roads doing things by the rules, or maybe it’s because I learnt to drive in the thirties - who knows, but I like to do things the way they’re supposed to be done [and this doesn't only apply to driving]. I consider it rude, ignorant and just damn lazy not to use your indicators. If you are intending to turn right or left, why wouldn’t you want to let other drivers know of your intentions? It’s basic common sense.
So when I’m at a roundabout and giving way to cars on my right, why is it that so many people presume I’m telepathic and just don’t bother to indicate? It really annoys me. Ok so they’re approaching in the left hand lane, which probably means that they’re turning left and so I could move on out and carry on with my journey, but I don’t know that until they actually do turn left, and as they haven’t indicated, I’ve presumed they’re going straight on at the roundabout and so have brought my car to a stop, put on the handbrake and moved into 1st gear. Then they turn left, which means I’m wasting my time sitting there giving way to them. If they’d bothered to indicate, I wouldn’t have bothered stopping and just carried on with my journey. Instead I’m sitting there waiting.
It’s so inconsiderate!
And it’s not only on roundabouts either - most people don’t seem to signal when changing lanes on the motorway either. Or on a normal road, when the car in front suddenly decides to slow down, for no reason as far as I can see, until they turn off to the left WITHOUT INDICATING. This happens a lot oon our high street. People see a parking space up ahead and slow down and then park - all with a total disregard for the car behind them.
What is wrong with people! Don’t they know the indicators are there for a reason?
