What a great idea! Here’s the basic premise: “We are constantly buying new clothes with our hard earned cash when we really shouldn’t have to. Why? Because the clothes we want are lying in other people’s wardrobes not being worn, and the clothes we no longer wear may be exactly what someone else is looking for.”

So Covert Candy magically appeared to help. Covert Candy is a trading platform for unwanted clothes. There’s no money involved - you just list your unwanted clothes and sell them for ‘credits’ which you can then use to buy the clothes you do want. You do however have to pay for the postage and packaging but I guess you add the value of that to the amount of credits your item is worth to give you a little extra credits to ’shop’ with.

I don’t have that many items of clothing that I don’t want as I have quite a minimal wardrobe and like to keep it that way, but maybe the next time I decide something isn’t worth keeping, instead of dropping it off at the local chartity shop, I might give Covert Candy a go and see what happens.
