Unimaginitive TV

I Hate
I often say that I don’t watch TV, but that’s not essentially the truth. I could certainly live without a TV in the house, but as we’ve got one, pay a licence for it, I do watch it occasionally.
I scan the schedule and pick out a few programs here and there that look interesting and then I switch on at the appropriate time, watch the show and then switch off when the program is over. If I don’t do this, I often get sucked into the banality which is modern day tv viewing and hours of my life get sucked into oblivion - hundreds of programs that I can’t believe got funding to be made in the first place and that people actually watch.
Over the festive period the TV schedules were full of shows like “The Most Annoying People of 2008″ screened recently on BBC3. The TV was crammed to the brim of 100 best of this and 100 worst of that and now that there are so many channels all showing these kind of programs and repeating them ad infinitum as well, you just can’t get away from them…well you could watch the never ending repeats of Friends instead I suppose.
Mind you if these shows didn’t exist then Charlie Brooker would have nothing to complain about and Screenwipe, the best show on the television, would not exist.
