Trying to load Spurl

I’ve been using spurl.net for years for managing my bookmarks. I got into it as I was working part-time as well as freelancing at the same time and so needed a way to access my bookmarks whichever office I was in and also whichever browser I was using.

But of late spurl.net has been going down in my estimation. The spurl bar no longer loads my categories and hasn’t done for a very long time. Then a few weeks ago the entire site just vanished! No explanation, nothing, it just disappeared. I managed to track down the guy who spawned spurl and emailed him to find out what was going on. I didn’t think there was a chance in hell he’d reply, but he did saying:

“I’m not involved with Spurl.net any more but I forwarded your mail to them and they kicked the server, apparently the server monitoring failed so they did not notice the service going down.”

So for about half an hour spurl.net was back up and running and then disappeared again…but came back eventually, but with the same old issues. I hope they sort it out soon. It’s impossible to get in touch with them as all emails get sent back as undeliverable mail.
