Dog Shit Part 2

Dog Shit Part 2

I Hate

Ok so I’ve blogged about Dog Shit before, see here. Not only am I annoyed by the majority of the local residents failing to pick up after their dogs, a new breed of dog owners is emerging…

There are some dog owners who do the first step of the ‘bag it and bin’ it regime, but then forget the second part. So now what we have around Kinghorn are lots of bags of dog excrement on display, like the one in the picture. One lovely dog owner thought it would be nice to bag up their dog’s poo and then hang it up on this railing. It’s been there for a week now! Then around the corner there are bags of dog poo lying on the ground only metres away from a bin - I just don’t understand the mentality of these folk!!!

I know exactly what you mean - we have loads of said bags round our area, to sidestep on walk to school… if the stuff was going to be left on the side of the road, then why bag it & make it last for 400 years?
    I feel a story coming on…
Once, whilst ironing, I noticed a guy peering into our bin in the driveway. I went to have a closer look & realised he was a dogwalker. A lightbulb pinged & I dashed outside in my slippers & jimjams… my worse suspicions confirmed - he had left a pile of doo on a scrap of cardboard & carrier bag in my bin (not tied up neatly, but just left like some kind of display poo)& it stunk bad (obviously). I fished it out and ran after him & said, “excuse me, I believe this is yours…” He looked at me, I smiled and held out his package. He replied, “well, better in a bin than in the street” and I said, “yes, but not MY bin.” So he took it, I said thank you, and ran home, heart pounding.
I don’t have a dog, but if I did, I would take the poo home - I wouldn’t think it was the done thing to deposit it, all open, in someone else’s bin which would need cleaning out for sure. Gah, the gall of it.

I’ve had the exact same experience - with people putting bags of dog poo in my bin as well as other rubbish. I now have three massive stones on top of the bin to stop them getting blown over, but it also stops people putting stuff in there too. However I can’t stop someone letting their dog poo right outside my gate - this is happening more often and some day soon I will catch the culprit and do exactly what you did and run out and have a go at them.

I was going to start a blog entitled ‘kinghorn is full of shit’ and create big posters of dog poo and pin them up all over the village, but I never got round to it. It’s still tempting and might be a great way of targetting the council to do something about the problem.
